In Los Angeles County, there are a variety of programs and initiatives available to low-income families. These include In Home Support Services (IHSS), the countywide Benefit Entitlement Services (CBEST) team, the restaurant meal program, and General Relief Opportunities for Work (GROW). The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) also offers Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) assistance to more than 27,000 households of individuals and families who were previously homeless or chronically homeless. The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) has established the Los Angeles County Housing Resource Center, a web-based housing database that allows people with physical disabilities to find affordable rental housing with accessibility features.

To this end, LACDA has partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), the Los Angeles Department of Probation, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and non-profit community organizations to provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and support services. The Breathe pilot program is another initiative offered by Los Angeles County.
